How do I upload my TIFF to Google Earth?

SkyFi's standard TIFF files contain complex data designed for GIS applications like QGIS, and may not load correctly into Google Earth as a result. If you're interested in converting your TIFF to a format that will work in Google Earth, please follow the steps below:

1. Open QGIS
2. Load in the 16-bit geotiff satellite image
3. Adjust the color, considering the following settings:
   1. 0 as nodata
   2. Percentile stretch between 2 and 99.5
   3. Add 1.55 gamma stretch
4. When happy with the colors:
   1. Right click / Ctrl click on the layer
   2. Click Export
   3. Click Save As
   4. Choose "Rendered image" at the top
   5. Set a suitable filename and save location
   6. Click OK

The resulting file will be 8-bits, georeferenced, and easy to load into Google Earth, or a CAD program, like AutoCAD.
